BIOGRAPHYHiroshi KIDA studied mechanics in the University of Tokyo’s department of Marine Science and Engineering. While there he particularly focused on structural mechanics, material mechanics, and fluid dynamics. He was also involved with producing hydrofoil boats.
In 2001 Mr. Kida passed the patent attorney examination and was registered as a patent attorney. He has also received the special infringement litigation certification.
In 2010 Mr. Kida also passed the United State Patent Office’s Registration Examination.
Following his graduation from university, he joined Mitsubuishi Motors Corporation and worked in the body design department of the truck and bus development division where he was involved with working on the design and analysis of the structure as well as the interior parts.
After that, Mr. Kida joined ITOH International Patent Office where he was responsible for drafting specifications in fields such as automotive, construction machinery, circuit boards, electronic equipment, IT Solutions, IoT related technology, sensors, pachinko machines, shipbuilding, and construction. Mr. Kida also attended the University of Washington’s Center for Advanced Study and Research on Innovation Policy (CASRIP) program. Additionally, while at ITOH he was responsible for appeal trials and providing expert opinions as well as taking on other administrative responsibilities.
Mr. Kida is intellectually curious and always strives to continue developing his intellectual curiosity. He also endeavors to carefully listen to his clients’ requests and raise the value of their inventions. By doing this, he is able to protect clients’ intellectual property both at home and abroad.

PRACTICE AREASMr. Kida is a certified patent attorney who specializes in affairs related to Intellectual Property rights. He has done work in the areas of prosecution, appraisals, appeals and litigation related to patents, particularly in the areas of machinery, automotive, software, electrical engineering and electronics.
